April 2020 Dates – Rachel Ellery anatomy expert
UK-trained Osteopath, New Zealand trained pilates rehab instructor & internationally recognized anatomy teacher Rachel Ellery, specializes in sharing her knowledge of human anatomy and movement principles to yoga students, yoga teachers, bodyworkers from around the world. Her mantra “educating and moving the world one body at a time” stems from over 26 years of hands on experience and 17 years of teaching functional anatomy, bodywork techniques and movement. Her passion to heal others through touch and movement began while practicing sports therapy in the UK and Caribbean. Rachel naturally progressed into further education at the British School of Osteopathy graduating in 2000. Rachel has also continued training in Cranio-sacral Osteopathy, Garuda mat, dry needling, pediatrics and shown interest in Eastern medicine healing modalities Wuo Tai, Zen Thai Shiatsu, Thai Vedic Yoga and the Thai Massage Circus. Since then, Rachel has practiced holistic osteopathy in NZ and now based in Bali, the healing capital of Asia, she travels within Bali and to yoga schools across the globe to educate yoga students in the importance of human and functional anatomy encouraging them to develop their alignment, self-awareness, teaching skills and to educate others in the wonders of the body. She combines her extensive knowledge of sports therapy, Osteopathy, Pilates, Garuda, yoga and experience into a unique interactive functional anatomy and movement class, that is both engaging and fun.
An Assistant will be added for our April event.
June and September dates: Imogen Collyer – anatomy expert
Imogen trained in Melbourne, Australia, graduating in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science (Biomedical), Bachelor of Clinical Science and a Masters in Health Science (Osteopathy).
Upon graduation, she worked for an Orthopaedic Hospital in Mumbai, India, focusing on knees, hips and shoulders. She worked alongside fellow Osteopaths, Physios and Surgeons in achieving optimal results for their patients. Imogen uses a combination of hands on therapy, dry needling, kinesiology, taping, exercise, lifestyle modification and stress management. Imogen holds particular interest in the areas of improving biomechanics, the bodies capacity to adapt, neuromuscular control and ultimately getting the body to work smarter, not harder. Imogen delivers lectures on anatomy that are fun, engaging and interactive classes for students to develop a sense of curiosity about how, what and why our bodies are moving, changing and responding to the demands that we place on them. Imogen engages her students in understanding and listening to their bodies, knowing how and when to flirt with the limits and when to scale back and take stock. She believes that in understanding how to move our bodies, and by approaching yoga with a curious mind, students will be able to delve deeper into their practice.
Kate ( assistant and Reiki Master )
Kate has a broad range of experience in various yoga, meditation and healing practices. Originally from the UK, she has travelled and lived abroad intermittently over the past 15 years. Her natural sensitivity for healing began at an early age when her horse experienced a back injury and she found herself intuitively laying her hands on him to relieve the pain. After training as a Reiki practitioner in Cambodia, Kate completed her 200 hour Yoga teacher training, 55 hour meditation teacher training and Reiki Master studies on the beautiful island of Koh Phangan, Thailand. Kate’s therapeutic, holistic approach forms the base of her yoga and meditation practice. You will find her teaching combines Eastern philosophies from traditional yogic practices, Buddhism, Taoism and Tantra.
