Claire Green – Course Facilitator Lead Trainer
Senior Yoga teacher, yoga therapist & passionate yogi, from her first encounter with yoga she was hooked, & fell in love with the pure raw healing potential of the practice; the contrast between the strength & power of a yang practice compared to the grace & surrender of a yin practice. Passionate about how yoga empowers people in the healing process; rather, than being a passive recipient of treatment, the student is actively engaged in the path to their own well-being. Claire sees her role as to guide you to listen to your own subtle messages of the body & directing you as to how to respond offering tools for re-balance & teaching you the way to implement these tools within your own self practice & teaching. Her teaching experience involves British Wheel of Yoga Foundation course trainings, Yin yoga teacher trainings, retreats, workshops, group classes, privates, pregnancy, postnatal, myofascia release, yoga therapy, as well as offering free classes to people with physical, mental & emotional difficulties or who wanted to improve their community links, accessing classes through the Adult Education Service in England. She incorporates both Yang (Vinyasa/ Hatha) & Yin/Myofascial techniques practices. You will be trained to develop your own self-practice, create balanced Vinyasa & Yin sequences, teach safely & confidently, whilst gaining a deeper insight of the yogic philosophy of life which goes beyond the asana. This training will not only give you the tools to live a better life & share your gift of yoga to the world, but it will also offer a powerful reflective insightful personal journey. Claire has over 1,200 hours of teacher training & 16 years of teaching experience; completing 500 hours with the British Wheel of Yoga in 2005; Birthlight pregnancy yoga training in 2009. She gained the British Wheel of Yoga Foundation Course Teacher Trainer certification in 2011 delivering British Wheel of Yoga Hatha yoga based teacher training. In 2014 she completed Forrest Yoga Advanced Yoga Training before furthering her training in 2015 completing 500-hour with Maggie Reach studying yin yoga therapy, yoga philosophy, chanting, and Ayurveda, co-run with Neil Pearson, a specialist in physical therapy & chronic pain. She continued these studies in Chennai, India, with teachers D.V. Sridhar, Viji Vasu, & Radha Sridhar at Yoga Raksanam. In 2019 she completed further Yin Yoga training with Jo Phee & Joe Barnett.

You will practice & learn the key poses in each category of asana (standing poses, forward bends, backbends, twists, & inversions), variations, & how to practice with mindful awareness according to your own body. You will begin to develop a relationship to both the form & the function of these different categories. You will gain both an understanding & practice in how to sequence a vinyasa class that cultivates creativity, independence, authenticity & allows you to grow as a teacher so you feel fully confident to teach your students in the practice of Vinyasa yoga. You will learn how to theme your classes to both inform and inspire according to yoga philosophy & how to plan for progressive routes for your students. We will explore in-depth the characteristics of each asana family & the other yogic tools including meditation, pranayama, mudra, chanting etc, that compliment this style of yoga, & how to incorporate these into your classes. This will include their effects on the physical & energetic planes of the body, the mind, benefits, yogic physiology (chakras, Vayu’s, koshas etc), along with its application to a Vinyasa yoga practice (benefits, contraindications, healthy movement patterns, etc.), western physiology (nervous systems, alignment principles, etc). You will learn how to work with contradictions & the use of modifications within your teaching to ensure a safe & effective practice for your students. You will receive analytical training in how to teach & practice the techniques, & receive guided practices of the techniques themselves.
We will explore the subtler layers, from the energetic to the psycho-emotional, to the psychological dimensions. Using Yin yoga philosophy & theoretical interactive lectures & applying these, together with the 5 element theory. Through our yin shapes, you will learn how to be with all sensations & feel these layers. You will develop your functional approach, learn about your bio individuality, understand the theory & apply sensory experience of movement & how to feel the inner experience of Yin yoga. You will be guided to go through a journey of creative understanding of your energetic system. By learning the theory & applying this to yourself first, then applying this to your teaching skills. You will understand how to self adjust accordingly, passing this confidence to your students so that they can also understand how to tune into their own energetic body. We will be breaking down each popular Yin asana, discussing variations & the use of props, understanding the rebound & rest period, the different stages of a Yin yoga practice & how to bring a mindful meditation to the practice by incorporating the breath as the essential tool. You will understand the theory & practice of myofascial release techniques as well as the integration of these within a Yin yoga class, known as MyoYin. We will use reflective insightful practice to help you grow as a teacher, & explore the essential skills, voice, tone, observational skills & safe touch, to skillfully interact with students, to create a safe space for healing potentiality. To teach yoga authentically, you must first have an established personal practice. During this intensive course, you will practice two hours twice a day which includes both a physical practice of different styles of yoga – Vinyasa, Yin yoga, Yinyasa & Restorative, & a meditation & pranayama practice.
If you feel ready to take this next step & wish to become a certified yoga teacher we do recommend you to have at least one year of regular & dedicated yoga asana practice.
However, if you are at the stage where you wish to develop your own practice, learn more about yoga & all its aspects, but are not ready or do not wish to become a certified yoga teacher yet then this course is also for you. We understand it can be difficult to find the time to learn & practice all the elements of yoga, so this is an opportunity to do so without becoming a yoga teacher.
If this is you, we do recommend you to have practiced any style of yoga for at least six months, as this will make it easier for you to develop a regular asana, pranayama, & meditation practice. You will be able to follow exactly the same schedule as those who are choosing to become certified, without the necessity to complete the assignment papers & student teaching labs.
During the training you will have different assessments to complete; this will be both written & practical teaching assignments this are part of your non-contact & contact hours requirements. You will be fully prepared for this process & we endeavour to create an environment of nurturing & support.
We provide a healthy group breakfast. Restaurants with beach front sunset views are all within walking distance of the venue offering both local & western cuisine.
