Yin Yoga Selfcare
The seasons are attributes of Qi & the Yin & Yang five transitional elemental energy cycles, known as the 5 elements.
As both receivers & contributors of collective Qi, we too can become affected by the changing of seasons which can adversely affect our sense of well-being.
Within TCM principles, this physical interconnectivity is through our internal organ system & energetically through the Meridian system.
Seasonal Yin Yoga Self-care is a personal Yin Yoga tool-kit for each elemental season. You will learn everything related to staying physically healthy, including understanding your organ health & how it connects to your physical & emotional well-being, the related Meridians, a collection of all the Yin Yoga asana we can incorporate, in addition to full 90-minute practices & embodied meditations.
There are healthy season nutrition/recipes, crystal healing, practical lifestyle suggestions & how we can better manage the associated, often difficult, emotions.
Each course offers you contemplative time to do a personal ‘check in’, & reflect on how you are taking care of yourself during natures cycles. Whilst also offering all the practical guidance in how you can come back to your centre.
I offer five separate Yin yoga seasonal self-care short courses.
Yin Yoga Selfcare for Spring
Spring is when the wood energy arises, associated with movement & fluidity, a time for new growth & fresh starts. We now emerge ready with our creative energy after our restoration period during the winter months. This short course will encourage you to listen to your body’s messages, bring movement to your asana, cultivating curiosity & evoking new growth to move forward.
Yin Yoga Selfcare for Summer
As we fold into summer, so does the wood energy of spring, move into the full Yang energy of fire. This is the most energetic phase & where action takes place. Summer energy is our time to expand, feel motivated & abundant. Within this course you will be encouraged to ignite your inner flame, connect your heart center to new possibilities, & opening into your personal power to create.
Yin Yoga Selfcare for Late Summer.
As our fire energy begins to cool, we move into the earth’s elemental energy, the late summer season. Earth is the aspect of all the energies in harmony, the Yang energies of spring & summer & Yin energies of autumn & winter. Late summer reminds us to find our center, & to develop trust.
You will be encouraged to slow down, listen, & build confidence in your body’s innate intelligence. Consciously shifting into surrender energy.
Yin Yoga Selfcare for Autumn.
The autumn season is when the energy of metal prevails, metal is the energy of accumulation & releasing waste, leaving only the essence behind. Autumn reminds us of the need for shredding what is no longer needed. Just with valuable & precious minerals & metals, you too will be encouraged to discover your sense of self-worth & value. To see harmony as the already present possibility, embodying our personal experiences & connecting to what is deep inside.
Yin Yoga Selfcare for Winter.
Winter is the energy associated with the water element; water is reflective, cooling, inward energy. A time for rest & rejuvenation, during which energy is conserved. With the spirit of winter, you will be encouraged to fully let go & develop courage as you practice the balance of effort & surrender.
When we learn to let go, we can shift from the sympathetic nervous system to the parasympathetic side and experience a calming release. We move from anxiety & hyper-stimulation to down-regulation, and our digestion, immune system, & other essential systems are restored.
